Finance Manager (MNC, Hybrid work arrangement)

This position will work with financial teams in Malaysia and International accounting teams. You will be responsible for driving cultural, operational changes and improvements in internal controls, risk management, and oversight of financial accounting

As a Finance Manager, your role will be central in preparing of monthly financial reports in accordance to corporate requirements and ensure all monthly financial reporting timelines are met and supporting schedules prepared while reviewing the work of the GL and AP team.

Key responsibilities:

  • Conduct quantitative and qualitative analyses on a broad array of issues across disciplines, projects, and functional areas as assigned
  • Prepare preliminary analysis for project teams, and/or department management on any initiatives as requested.
  • Support facility-level annual budget and monthly rolling forecast
  • Collaborate with Operations team on budget and forecast process as needed.
  • Prepare preliminary interpretations/commentaries and analysis on P&L and related operating reports aiming to create "actionable insights" for operation and management team
  • Analyze variance to budget for all line-items with variance for the month, and provide analyses to the Monthly Financial Review (MFR) report
  • Distribute monthly P&L, variance analysis and other related reports as needed ;perform follow up analysis and respond to questions from the field/operation team
  • Monitoring of fluctuation of inventory costs, dealing closely with the relevant departments involved to find root cause and solution
  • Proactive interaction with operation team and other functional departments to provide inputs Keeping the financial books and records of all the Malaysian entities accurately and timely.
  • Lead the GL and AP teams.

The successful candidate will be instrumental in optimising fund utilisation, adhering to internal policies and regulatory requirements, and providing precise financial insights to aid strategic decision-making.

Key requirements:

  • Degree in Accountancy or ACCA/CPA
  • Minimum 10-12 years of relevant experience
  • MNC experience required
  • Big 4 audit firm, audit experience preferred
  • US GAAP knowledge preferred,
  • Have experience in writing Policies and Procedures (SOX) preferred.
  • Strong proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint
  • Strong people management skills, have experience in managing a sizeable team of about 5-10
  • Strong problem solving skills
  • Hands on and willing to stretch "up" and "down" in responsibilities
  • Demonstrated interpersonal, collaborative, and relationship-building skills; ability to interact positively with teammates at all levels of the company, and foster a strong functional team. Clear communication to the team. Able to create a team learn
