Finance Manager

This client is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Finance Manager to join their team in Petaling Jaya. This role offers an exciting opportunity to oversee the overall accounting functions, ensuring accurate and timely day-to-day accounting, monthly closing, and management reporting. The successful candidate will also play a key role in developing standard operating procedures, implementing strong internal controls, and continually reviewing business processes to improve operational efficiency.

What you'll do:

As a Finance Manager, you will be at the heart of our client's operations. Your primary responsibility will be overseeing the overall accounting functions for all operating companies within the organisation. You will ensure that all financial transactions are accurately recorded according to generally accepted accounting principles, local laws, regulations, and company policies. You will also take a lead role in reviewing and implementing internal processes and control procedures. Your excellent communication skills will come into play as you liaise with various stakeholders both internally and externally.

• Ensure accurate and timely day-to-day accounting including invoicing, payment processing, payroll and cash management.
• Complete monthly trial balance, balance sheet, income statement and notes to accounts on a timely basis.
• Familiarise with management reporting and statutory reporting requirements.
• Check and process payments accurately and timely.
• Reconcile discrepancies in payments, invoices and receipts with internal and external stakeholders.
• Coordinate finance administrative matters including banking matters, maintenance of vendor and customer database etc.
• Prepare and present monthly management reports, variance analysis and cash flow projections to Management/Directors.
• Review and implement internal processes and control procedures.
• Liaise with regulatory agencies to ensure compliance with local statutory laws and regulations.
• Assist in annual budgeting.

What you bring:

The ideal candidate for this Finance Manager role brings a wealth of experience in financial management within an international organization or multinational company. You have proven your abilities in previous roles as a Finance Manager or similar position. Your developed financial management/accounting skills are essential for success in this role. You are a self-starter with strong organizational skills and the ability to set priorities, complete work with minimal supervision, and meet deadlines. Experience in Oracle or ERP system is preferred but not essential. Above all, you are a team player with excellent communication skills, fluent in both spoken and written English.

• University degree in accounting or ACCA or a CPA. Candidates with a university degree in finance with relevant experience will also be considered.
• At least five years of financial/project management/accounting experience within an international organization or multinational company.
• Proven experience as a Finance Manager or similar position.
• Developed financial management/accounting skills are essential.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to set priorities, complete work with minimal supervision, meet deadlines.
• Experience in Oracle or ERP system preferred.
• Self-starter with strong organizational skills.
• Willingness to be hands-on.
• Excellent communication skills, with fluency (spoken and written) in English.
