Senior Accountant

This client is seeking a Senior Accountant to join their team. This role offers the opportunity to manage day-to-day accounting operations and contribute to strategic decision-making processes. What you'll do:

As a Senior Accountant, you will play a pivotal role in managing the daily accounting operations of this client's business. You will be responsible for preparing accurate financial statements and reports, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and standards. Your analytical skills will be put to use as you interpret complex financial data to support strategic decisions. In addition to these responsibilities, you will also supervise and mentor the accounting team while working collaboratively with other departments to enhance financial processes and controls.

• Manage the day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger maintenance
• Prepare accurate and timely financial statements, reports, and other accounting documents
• Ensure compliance with all relevant financial regulations and accounting standards
• Implement and maintain effective financial controls and procedures
• Analyse financial data and provide insights to support strategic decision-making
• Supervise and develop the accounting team, providing guidance and mentorship
• Collaborate with other departments to improve financial processes and controls

What you bring:

The ideal candidate for this Senior Accountant position holds a degree in Accounting or Finance along with CPA or CA qualifications. With at least 5 years of experience in a senior role within the manufacturing or logistics industry, you bring a strong understanding of financial principles, reporting standards, and best practices. Your excellent analytical abilities allow you to interpret complex financial data effectively. Proficiency in using accounting software is essential for this role. Your proven leadership skills have enabled you to develop high-performing teams in your previous roles. Lastly, your strong communication skills make you an effective collaborator across various functions.

• Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Chartered Accountant (CA) qualification
• Minimum 5 years of experience in a senior accounting or finance role, preferably in the manufacturing or logistics industry
• Strong understanding of financial accounting principles, reporting standards, and best practices
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data
• Proficient in using accounting software and spreadsheet applications
• Proven track record of leading and developing high-performing teams
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders
