What you'll do:
As an Assistant Finance Manager, your role will be pivotal in supporting the Finance Manager in all aspects of financial management. You will be involved in preparing financial reports, creating budgets, analysing variances, managing cash flow, ensuring compliance, supporting audits, conducting financial analysis, managing accounts, and providing support to your team. Your insights will influence business decisions and improve operational efficiency. This role offers you the chance to leverage your understanding of the business environment to support key financial decisions.
- Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
- Aid in the creation of budgets and forecasts
- Perform regular analysis of financial variances
- Monitor cash flow and ensure the company’s liquidity requirements are met
- Assist in maintaining internal controls and ensuring compliance with financial regulations
- Support internal and external audits
- Conduct financial analysis to identify trends, profitability, cost-saving opportunities
- Oversee and assist in accounts payable/receivable processes
- Provide guidance and support to junior finance team members
What you bring:
The ideal Assistant Finance Manager will bring a wealth of experience from previous finance or accounting roles. You will have a strong understanding of financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting and accounting principles. Your proficiency in using various financial software tools coupled with your advanced Excel skills will enable you to excel in this role. Your knowledge of financial regulations and compliance requirements will be essential for maintaining internal controls. Your excellent analytical skills will aid you in identifying trends and cost-saving opportunities.
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or related field (CPA, ACCA or other relevant qualifications is a plus)
- Minimum 5-7 years of experience in finance or accounting roles
- Strong understanding of financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting and accounting principles
- Proficiency in financial software (e.g., SQL, Sage, MYOB etc) and advanced Excel skills
- Knowledge of financial regulations and compliance requirements
- Excellent analytical, organizational and communication skills
