Our client is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Finance Assistant Manager to join their team in Penang.

What you'll do:
As a Finance Assistant Manager, you will play a crucial role in managing the company's daily accounting and administrative matters. You will be responsible for preparing and analysing financial reports, assisting in budgeting and forecasting activities, ensuring compliance with local tax regulations, coordinating audits, overseeing cash flow management, supervising junior team members, participating in strategic financial modelling, and liaising with other departments. Your ability to work under pressure while maintaining attention to detail will be key to your success in this role.
- Prepare and analyse monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis to support strategic decision-making.
- Ensure compliance with local tax regulations, accounting standards, and company policies.
- Coordinate with internal and external auditors during financial audits.
- Oversee cash flow planning and ensure sufficient liquidity for operational needs.
- Supervise and mentor junior finance team members.
- Participate in financial modelling and scenario analysis for business expansion or investment opportunities.
- Coordinate with other departments on documentation for delivery of goods, payment matters and petty cash for minor purchases.
What you bring:
The ideal candidate for the Finance Assistant Manager position brings a wealth of experience in finance or accounting roles. With a minimum of 5 years' experience under your belt - including at least 2 years in a supervisory capacity - you are well-versed in Malaysian financial regulations, tax laws, and accounting standards. Your proficiency in financial software such as SAP or Oracle complements your advanced Excel skills. You possess excellent analytical abilities, problem-solving skills, and communication skills. Your ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines will be crucial in this role.
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
- Professional certification (e.g., ACCA, CPA, CFA) is highly preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in finance or accounting roles, with at least 2 years in a supervisory capacity.
- Strong knowledge of Malaysian financial regulations, tax laws, and accounting standards.
- Proficiency in financial software (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and advanced Excel skills.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
