Our client is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Finance Manager to join their team in Penang. This role offers the opportunity to take overall authority of the finance department, undertaking all aspects of financial management. You will be a strategic partner with local management, driving profitability and ensuring compliance with internal and external policies.
What you'll do:
As a Finance Manager, your role will be pivotal in leading the finance functions in Penang. You will ensure full compliance with internal and external policies, drive timely submission of financial reports, and provide proactive financial expertise to aid decision-making. Your responsibilities will also include reviewing and implementing financial procedures to strengthen internal controls, leading on the preparation of forecasts and budgets, managing cash flow, and supporting investment appraisals. This role requires a strong commitment, great initiative, and responsibility.
- Lead and oversee the overall finance functions in Penang
- Ensure full compliance with internal and external policies and procedures
- Timely submission of company’s financial reporting according to group reporting deadlines
- Provide proactive financial expertise to the management for decisions making
- Review and implementation of financial procedures and policies to strengthen internal control over financial reporting
- Lead and provide supports to local management on the preparation of rolling forecast and yearly budget
- Responsible for cash flow and working capital management with support from Corporate Treasury team
- Work with local management in investment appraisals and evaluation
What you bring:
The ideal candidate for this Finance Manager position will bring a wealth of experience in accounting, holding a professional degree of accounting qualifications. With at least 10 years' experience under your belt, you'll have developed strong communication skills and the ability to partner effectively with business stakeholders. Fluency in Mandarin/Chinese and English is essential, as is a sound understanding of IFRS and tax regulations. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint is also required. Well verse in SAP will be highly value.
- Possess at least a Bachelor degree in accounting, CPA, ACCA or equivalent
- At least 10 years of relevant working experience
- Strong communication and business partnering skills
- Ability to speak/read Mandarin/Chinese and English
- Sound knowledge of IFRS and tax regulations
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word and Powerpoint
- Well verse in SAP
