Our client is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Manager for their Accounting department. This role is based in the vibrant city of Selangor and offers an exciting opportunity to oversee financial control, reporting, tax, treasury and accounts payable functions. The successful candidate will assist with financial management and accounting tasks by coordinating and summarising budgets and operating results. They will also supervise staff in preparing and finalising monthly accounts and reports to ensure timely and accurate information for management review.

What you'll do:
As a Manager in Accounting, your role will be pivotal in leading the Accounting and Payables team. You will be responsible for overseeing the smooth operation of financial control and reporting for both Malaysia and Singapore. Your expertise will be crucial in ensuring compliance of all financial reports with established standards as well as local regulations. You will contribute significantly to the annual budgeting process by tracking variances with actuals to maintain adherence to the budget. Your role will also involve reviewing and projecting monthly/quarterly cash flows to provide accurate information for management review. A key part of your role will be to ensure that the monthly reporting process is standardised, consistently improved for accuracy, promptness, and coordinated effectively with statutory/internal auditors as well as tax consultants.
- Lead the Accounting and Payables team, ensuring smooth financial control and reporting for Malaysia and Singapore.
- Oversee compliance of monthly, tertial, and yearly financial reports with standards and local regulations.
- Contribute to annual budgeting process, tracking variances with actuals to adhere to the budget.
- Review and project monthly/quarterly cash flow, ensuring accurate information for management review.
- Ensure the monthly reporting process is standardised and consistently improved for accuracy and promptness.
- Coordinate with statutory/internal auditors and tax consultants to ensure compliance with internal controls and tax regulations.
What you bring:
The ideal candidate for this Manager - Accounting position brings a professional qualification in Accounting / Finance such as CPA or ACCA or an equivalent certification. You have at least 5 years of experience in an accounting related role with a preference for those who have experience in Audit roles. Your hands-on experience with financial principles, accounting standards, tax and local regulations relating to accounting and taxes will be highly valued. You have at least 3 years of people management experience and are proficient in Microsoft Office tools including Excel, Power BI and PPT. Your strong communication skills make you a team player and you take ownership in your function, taking responsibility in developing people.
- Professional qualification in Accounting / Finance; CPA, ACCA or equivalent certification preferred.
- At least 5 years of experience in an accounting related role. Experience in Audit roles will be an added advantage.
- Hands on experience in financial principles, accounting standards, tax and local regulations relating to accounting and taxes.
- At least 3 years of people management experience.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Power BI and PPT).
- Strong communication skill and a team player.
- Ownership in your function and takes responsibility in developing people.
