Our client is seeking a highly skilled Finance Manager to join their team in Penang.
This role is integral to the financial health of the organisation, with responsibilities spanning across financial reporting, planning and forecasting, KPI management, business strategy review, internal and external audits, SOX audit, budgeting, banking, and taxation. The successful candidate will report directly to the A6 Financial Controller in Singapore and have a dotted line to the Country Manager in Malaysia.
- Oversee all finance-related functions for the country (Malaysia)

What you'll do:
As a Finance Manager, your role will be pivotal in maintaining the financial health of our client's operations in Malaysia. You will oversee monthly financial closings and prepare comprehensive financial reports. Your expertise will be crucial in managing finance manufacturing activities including cost accounting, inventory analysis, standard cost activities and production cost analysis. You will also monitor performance for all finance related accounts such as receivables, payables, cash management, inventory management. Your collaborative skills will be put to use as you work closely with HR in preparing employees payroll/journals.
- Oversee monthly financial closing and prepare financial reports
- Manage all finance manufacturing activities such as cost accounting, inventory analysis, standard cost activities and production cost analysis
- Monitor performance for all finance related accounts such as receivables, payables, cash management, inventory management
- Provide financial input/advice on all finance related decisions
- Work together with HR in preparing employees payroll/journals
- Ensure compliance to quarterly Sox procedure and reviewing documents for SOX audit
- Responsible for Internal audit – providing necessary documentation and liaising with internal auditors
- Responsible for external audit – providing necessary documentation and liaising with external auditors
- Responsible for all GST/tax reporting and compliance.
- Responsible for yearly budgets.
What you bring:
The ideal candidate for this Finance Manager position brings a wealth of experience in finance within an MNC culture. With a Bachelor’s degree in accounting or ACCA/CPA qualification under your belt, you have spent over 8 years honing your skills in the field. Your background includes experience working with shared services and you are comfortable working independently. Your strong interpersonal and communication skills enable you to work productively with individuals at all levels inside and outside the organisation. Proficiency with ERP software (Navision/SAP) as well as office applications such as MS Word, Excel and Power Point is a must.
- Bachelor’s degrees in accounting, ACCA/CPA
- Above 8 years’ experience in finance and familiar with MNC culture
- Big 4 and manufacturing experience is preferred
- Experience working with shared service is preferred
- Ability to work independently with strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Proficiency with ERP software (Navision/SAP) as well as office applications such as MS Word, Excel and Power Point
