Finance Team Lead

An attractive Finance Team Lead job has just become available at one of the fastest growing technology startups based in Petaling Jaya. In this role, you will be reporting directly to the Financial Controller within a supportive work environment in Malaysia.

About the Finance Team Lead Role:
In this position, you will be responsible for overseeing the work of the finance team, with the support of two finance executives. Reporting to the Financial Controller, you will assist with the preparation of management accounts and month-end processes.

Key Responsibilities:

• Ensure smooth month end closing, timely payments and accurate reporting
• Prepare consolidated P&L, cash flow and balance sheet
• Prepare cash flow statements (monthly)
• Prepare management accounts with the assistance of finance executives
• Prepare annual budget and forecasts
• Support the FC in ad hoc analysis
• Maintain key control accounts and intercompany balances
• Prepare annual statutory accounts for company and subsidiaries
• Prepare year-end audits and support during financial auditing of all the company accounts
• Payroll preparation/supervision
• Review monthly reports of all junior team members
• Ad hoc duties as and when required
• Be a back-up resource for members of the finance team when absent
• Be the team lead for the finance team on all aspects of the accounting function, including managing and delegating daily work load, resolve any issues, provide training and coaching where necessary

To succeed in the Finance Team Lead role, you will need to be passionate about working within a startup environment, managing a team and be equipped with extensive accounting skills and knowledge.

Key Requirements:

• Proven work experience (at least four years) in an accounting/finance function or audit, startup experience is a plus
• Good attention to detail
• Good knowledge of book-keeping procedures and basic accounting knowledge
• Competency in MS Office and Xero accounting software is a plus
• SST knowledge is a plus
• Self-motivated and a team player
• Solid data entry skills with an ability to identify numerical errors
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Good organisational and time-management abilities
• Must possess at least a bachelor's degree in accounting or has completed a professional qualification (ACCA, CPA, or equivalent)
• Good academic achievements in high school (at least 3As in SPM) and university
