As Chief Financial Officer, you will be at the heart of strategic decision-making, providing trusted guidance to the Board and senior management while ensuring robust financial governance and sustainable growth. The company values your expertise in project finance, cost management, and regulatory compliance, offering an environment where your leadership will directly impact shareholder value and organisational success. With a competitive salary package ranging from RM360,000 to RM420,000 per annum, this position provides not only financial reward but also the chance to work alongside knowledgeable colleagues in a supportive culture that encourages continuous improvement and professional development.

* • Join a reputable public-listed real estate and property developer in Sabah, offering you the platform to influence high-level financial strategy and drive sustainable business growth across diverse projects.

* • Enjoy a competitive annual salary package between RM360,000 and RM420,000, reflecting the importance of your role and recognising your extensive experience in finance leadership within listed environments.

* • Benefit from working in an inclusive organisation that prioritises accountability, compliance, and ongoing process improvements, supporting your career progression through collaborative teamwork and knowledge sharing.

What you'll do:

As Chief Financial Officer for this public-listed real estate developer in Sabah, you will play an instrumental role in shaping both day-to-day operations and long-term strategic direction. Your responsibilities will span from overseeing complex financial reporting cycles to guiding major investment decisions that underpin project feasibility. You will ensure regulatory compliance at every level while maintaining rigorous internal controls across all group entities. By leading treasury operations—including funding negotiations—you will safeguard liquidity for ongoing developments. Your stewardship extends to building strong relationships with investors and regulators alike. In addition to technical oversight of cost control for construction projects, you will champion digital transformation within finance processes. Success in this role means not only delivering accurate reports but also inspiring your team towards excellence while embedding best practices in governance throughout the organisation.

* Develop and execute comprehensive financial strategies that align with the Group’s business objectives and long-term growth plans.

* Act as a key advisor to the Board of Directors, Audit Committee, and senior management on all matters related to finance, investment decisions, land acquisitions, and project feasibility.

* Oversee group-wide financial reporting processes including budgeting, forecasting, consolidation of accounts for subsidiaries and joint ventures, ensuring accuracy and timeliness in line with Bursa Malaysia requirements.

* Ensure full compliance with statutory regulations such as MFRS and Companies Act by managing quarterly and annual financial submissions efficiently.

* Lead project costing activities for construction and development initiatives by monitoring cash flow forecasts, profitability analysis, margin performance, cost control measures, and variation risks.

* Manage treasury functions including cash flow optimisation, banking facilities administration, project financing arrangements, capital structure planning, and negotiations with banks or financiers.

* Oversee investor relations by engaging proactively with analysts, shareholders, regulators, and other stakeholders to maintain transparency and trust.

* Establish robust internal controls along with risk management frameworks that uphold corporate governance standards throughout the organisation.

* Supervise tax planning activities while ensuring compliance through effective liaison with auditors, tax agents, and relevant authorities.

* Lead the finance team by fostering professional development opportunities, driving digitalisation initiatives for process enhancement, nurturing a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.

What you bring:

Your extensive background as a senior finance professional equips you with the technical acumen needed for this Chief Financial Officer position. You bring proven experience navigating complex regulatory landscapes typical of public-listed companies—ensuring full compliance at all times. Your familiarity with construction or property development environments means you understand the nuances of project-based accounting as well as cost control mechanisms critical for profitability. Beyond technical proficiency in areas like group consolidation or treasury management lies your strength in building meaningful connections—with both internal teams and external stakeholders such as auditors or financiers. Your approachability fosters open communication channels while your commitment to continuous improvement drives innovation within finance processes. Above all else: your integrity underpins every decision made—reinforcing trust among colleagues who depend on your guidance during periods of change or growth.

* Degree in Finance, Accounting or related discipline complemented by CPA/ACCA or equivalent professional qualification is essential for this position.

* A minimum of 12–15 years’ senior finance experience—preferably gained within construction or property development sectors—is required to excel in this role.

* Demonstrated track record working within a public-listed company environment is mandatory due to regulatory complexities involved.

* Comprehensive understanding of project finance structures coupled with advanced cost management skills are vital for effective oversight of large-scale developments.

* In-depth knowledge of corporate governance principles ensures adherence to statutory obligations under Bursa Malaysia Listing Requirements.

* Proven ability to provide strategic insights that support investment appraisals as well as operational decision-making at board level is highly valued.

* Experience managing group consolidations involving subsidiaries or joint ventures adds significant value given the scope of operations involved.

* Exceptional stakeholder engagement skills enable you to build trust with analysts, shareholders, regulators—and foster positive investor relations outcomes.

* Expertise in establishing robust risk management frameworks alongside strong internal controls is crucial for safeguarding organisational assets.

* Leadership qualities that inspire collaboration within multidisciplinary teams while promoting accountability are fundamental for success.
