Plant Controller

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly skilled Plant Controller to join a leading manufacturing and production company in Penang.

What you'll do:

As a Plant Controller, your role will be pivotal in driving performance within a leading manufacturing company. You will report directly to the Senior Finance Director – AP Region, providing crucial support to the General Manager in overseeing plant operations. Your responsibilities will span across various aspects of finance, from FP&A reporting and costing to cash-flow forecasting and tax planning. You will also play a key role in ensuring compliance with statutory requirements, including audit and tax filing. Your ability to handle ad hoc projects will be essential in this dynamic role.

• Report to the Senior Finance Director – AP Region
• Business Partner with GM in supporting plant operation and driving performance
• Manage all aspect of the finance function in plant
• Responsible for FP&A reporting (budgeting & forecasting etc) and costing (product cost & inventory control etc)
• Prepare cash-flow forecast/planning & tax planning
• Involve in analyzing, reviewing and establishing operational and internal controls effectiveness and procedures
• Ensure compliance with the statutory requirements, including audit and tax filing
• Preparing and reviewing KPIs of functional units and review with operation
• Handling ad hoc projects when required

What you bring:

The ideal candidate for this Plant Controller position is a professionally qualified accountant. You bring at least 15 years' experience in accounting or auditing within the manufacturing industry, preferably within an MNC. Your solid experience managing finance or accounting functions coupled with your strong business partnership skills make you an ideal fit for this role. Your familiarity with local accounting standards, taxation, regulations, and operations will be crucial in this role. Experience with computerized accounting systems and ERP, particularly Oracle, will be advantageous. Your strong communication and interpersonal skills, along with your ability to work independently in a team environment, will set you apart.

• Professional qualified accountant
• At least 15 years’ accounting/auditing experience in manufacturing industry, MNC experience is preferred.
• Solid experience in managing finance/accounting function and strong business partnership with GM and department heads
• Familiarity with local accounting standards, taxation, regulations and operations
• Experience in computerized accounting system & ERP. Familiarity with Oracle is an advantage.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, disciplinary and task-oriented and able to work independently in a team environment
• Good command of written & spoken English
