Head of SSC (APAC)

An exciting Head of SSC (APAC) joib has just become available at one of the IT MNCs based in Petaling Jaya. Reporting to CFO, you will be a part of the dynamic team.

About the Head of SSC (APAC) Role:
In this position, you will be a critical member of the APAC Global Finance team and part of the GBS leadership team. You will provide successful leadership, management and governance to the APAC Shared Service Centre.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee and responsible for timely and quality delivery of monthly financial close processes including adherence to Corporate closing calendars, compliance with IRFS , local accounting standards and policies
• Oversee internal and external audits to ensure successful and satisfactory yearly audit campaigns
• Develop an inclusive environment and ensure integration of GBS Stream employees as one team
• Promote and execute the vision of the GBS roadmap and ambition
• Ensure harmonisation and consistency across the region on execution of processes
• Ensure all SSC services are delivered timely with the highest quality, in compliance with group policies, IFRS and local accounting regulations
• Strong focus on internal controls, building a strong internal control environment and mindset in the teams, working with external and internal audit teams
• Lead and Manage new activities transitioning into the SSC including integration of new business acquisitions
• Lead and strongly support Projects delivery for the APAC region and global corporate projects including transformation, harmonisation and finance systems enhancement projects
• Continuous improvement champion, promotes continuous improvement, provides ongoing direction and support across all streams

To succeed in this Head of SSC (APAC) role, you will need to have strong leadership and communication skills, and the ability to engage large teams of people and enable them to develop/ change their approach.

Key Requirements:

• University graduate in accounting field
• Strong technical accounting skills, IFRS with experience in interpreting and implementing accounting standards and ability to identify risk areas in reviews
• As a leader of people, demonstrated success collaborating successfully with management, peers, direct reports and regional stakeholders
• Senior experience in a similar Finance Leadership role in a multinational environment with regional exposure in a shared services function
• Proven capability to effect change and demonstrated the ability to reach alignment with senior leadership in the areas of responsibility
• Strong Project management, organisation and planning skills
• Demonstrated success in setting and meeting personal and organisational goals, including motivating a medium to large sized team to achieve its goals
• Understand the functionality, interfaces and inter-dependencies of financial processes and systems, and ensure the existence of adequate internal controls
• Proven success managing diverse and multicultural stakeholders and business expectations across differing time zones
