An exciting Credit Control Analyst job has just become available at one of the largest manufacturing companies located in Klang. In this role, you will be reporting directly to the Manager within a supportive work environment in Malaysia.
About the Credit Control Analyst Role:
In this position, you will be responsible for preparing statements of accounts, managing outstanding sales balances and are to be well versed in the accounts receivable functions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Professionally handle inquiries, requests, and complaints from customers
- Manage the outstanding sales balances falling due and contact customers/sales representative before the balance become overdue
- Monitor customers with overdue balances and assist in the credit control function of following up on overdue debts
- Work closely with the Commercial Team and follow up on payment status in timely manner. Prepare statements of accounts and send reminder letters to customers who have overdue payments
- Regularly monitor blocked orders and implement expedient action for their release in compliance with the Credit Policy/Authority matrix
- Ensure the company’s credit policies and procedures have been properly complied with
- Ensure the proper collection of monies and allocation to customer accounts, releasing orders, and dealing with difficult customers without damage to sales or risk to the company
- Report daily collection performance to superior
- Maintain a proper filing system and ensure documents are traceable in an efficient manner
- Provide accounting support and other accounts duties as and when required, e.g. treasury-related function
- Manage the exposure of export sales in foreign currency for hedging purposes
- Prepare externally required reports, e.g. quarterly export sales report to Bank Negara Malaysia, segmental information and RRPT
- Undertake ad hoc assignments assigned by the management as and when required from time to time
- Preparation and submission of bill of exchange instruments for collection
- Prepare monthly AR collection forecast and AR collection performance report
- Confer with clients to verify their financial/credit transactions and to resolve their complaints
- Process and arrange for staff claim payments and reimbursements of AR credit balance
- Prepare free text invoices for inter-company transactions other than goods sold
- Prepare the provision for doubtful debts based on MFRS 9
- Prepare invoices submission for receivable financing and trade credit insurance premium provision
- Accounts receivable financing reconciliation and reconciliation between AR subsystem and GL
- Liaise with external auditor on AR related matters
To succeed in this Credit Control Analyst role, you will need to have strong understanding in accounts receivable functions and preparing externally required reports.
Key Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or other business-related fields
- Two to five years of strong quantitative experience
- Strong proficiency in MS Office; general computer use and knowledge of Microsoft Dynamic AX system is an added advantage
- Ability to manage competing deadlines in a high-pressure environment
- Strong attention to details and ability to notice discrepancies in data
- Impeccable understanding of financial statements, ratios, and concepts
- Highly advantageous if the candidate has process knowledge and experience in short-term financing, e.g. accounts receivable and banker’s acceptance financing products
- Willingness to work overtime to complete the tasks assigned.
