What you'll do:


As Assistant General Manager, Group Investment at this public-listed conglomerate based in Kuala Lumpur, you will be entrusted with a broad spectrum of responsibilities that are central to the company’s continued growth. * Conduct thorough evaluation and review of business options and proposals by performing detailed feasibility studies, due diligence exercises, financial restructuring analyses, and developing robust financial models and projections.
* Formulate comprehensive schemes for corporate proposals by preparing all necessary documentation such as board papers, announcements, press releases, circulars to shareholders, while proactively identifying issues related to these proposals and providing effective solutions or recommendations.
* Advise management on regulatory compliance matters as well as disclosure requirements to ensure all investment activities adhere strictly to relevant laws and guidelines issued by authorities.
* Review compliance aspects meticulously by checking disclosures in presentation materials, legal documents, circulars, prospectuses, press documents, and applications submitted to authorities.
* Liaise professionally with various parties including legal advisors, auditors, bankers, consultants, regulators and other relevant professionals to facilitate smooth execution of investment transactions.
* Support the Head of Group Investment in strategic decision-making processes by providing insightful analysis on market trends and capital market developments.
* Prepare clear and concise reports for senior management summarising findings from research activities related to investment opportunities or corporate finance proposals.
* Collaborate effectively with subsidiary companies within the group network to ensure alignment of investment strategies across different business units.

* Minimum 8 to 10 years of relevant working experience with at least 4 years spent specialising in corporate finance within a merchant banking environment is essential.
* Demonstrated understanding of capital markets along with comprehensive knowledge of securities law and guidelines issued by regulatory authorities is highly desirable.
* Proven ability to structure complex investment proposals supported by strong writing skills for preparing board papers and shareholder communications is expected.
* Excellent interpersonal skills combined with effective communication abilities are vital for liaising with internal teams as well as external professional parties.
* Experience conducting due diligence exercises along with financial modelling proficiency is important for evaluating new business options accurately.
* Ability to prepare clear reports summarising research findings on investment opportunities or corporate finance proposals is advantageous.
