Our client is seeking a Group Strategy and Corporate Finance Specialist to join their dynamic team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to assist in the strategic planning of the company, conduct market research, and manage corporate finance activities. You will be instrumental in identifying strategic issues and opportunities that could influence business growth and profitability. Your excellent analytical skills will be put to good use as you analyse potential M&A targets and coordinate the M&A process from end to end. This role requires strong interpersonal skills as you will manage relationships with various stakeholders, including shareholders, potential investors, government entities, and the public. * Assist in strategic planning and corporate finance activities * Conduct market research and data analysis * Manage relationships with various stakeholders

What you'll do:

As a Group Strategy and Corporate Finance Specialist, your role will be pivotal in shaping the future direction of our client's business. You will be involved in every aspect of strategic planning - from analysing existing businesses to conceptualising new business ideas and facilitating international expansion. Your ability to identify strategic issues and opportunities will directly impact business growth and profitability. You will also play a crucial role in managing corporate finance activities, including analysing potential M&A targets and coordinating the entire M&A process. Your strong interpersonal skills will enable you to build successful relationships with a wide range of stakeholders.

  • Assist in the strategic planning of the company in existing businesses, new business concepts, and international expansion
  • Provide support in the identification of strategic issues and opportunities that could influence business growth and profitability
  • Conduct market research, analyse and present data on topics related to the business to facilitate decision making
  • Coordinate and follow up with internal and external stakeholders to ensure that project timeline is met
  • Analyse potential M&A targets in terms of business, strategy, financials, competitors, market outlook
  • Coordinate the M&A process from end to end
  • Manage relationships with existing shareholders and potential investors
  • Manage relationship with other stakeholders, such as the government, the community and the public
  • Liaise with professional advisers in relation to corporate proposals or fund-raising activities as and when required

What you bring:

The ideal candidate for the Group Strategy and Corporate Finance Specialist role will bring a wealth of experience and knowledge in finance, accounting or banking. With at least three years of relevant work experience in investment banking, corporate finance, management consulting, strategy or research, you are well-versed in the intricacies of the financial sector. Your strong analytical and arithmetic skills, coupled with your ability to efficiently collect and analyse data, will be invaluable in this role. Your critical and strategic thinking abilities will be put to good use as you navigate complex business scenarios. Proficiency in Chinese and familiarity with MS Office, Bloomberg, Capital IQ etc. will be advantageous.

  • Bachelor’s Degree/Post Graduate Diploma/Professional Degree in Finance/Accounting/Banking or equivalent
  • Minimum three (3-5) years relevant working experience in investment banking, corporate finance, management consulting, strategy, research or equivalent
  • Strong analytical and arithmetic skills
  • Ability to identify and collect relevant data efficiently & distil insights from qualitative and quantitative analyses
  • Critical, strategic thinking, entrepreneurship qualities are a plus
  • Chinese language proficiency is a plus
  • Proficient in MS Office (MS Excel specifically), Bloomberg, Capital IQ etc.
  • Excellent organisational, oral and written communication skills
