An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dedicated Mergers and Acquisitions Analyst consulting firm, rapidly expanding its presence in South East Asia. This role offers an unparalleled chance to gain hands-on experience of the M&A process from start to end, with exposure to top-level management across various industries. The successful candidate will be based in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

What you'll do:

As a Mergers and Acquisitions Analyst, you will play a pivotal role in our client's expansion into South East Asia. You will be immersed in the dynamic world of M&A, working closely with senior leadership on various projects. Your responsibilities will span from conducting thorough research and analysis of relevant sectors, sourcing deals, to supporting proposal preparations. Your ability to read financial statements and conduct insightful analyses will be crucial in this role. Furthermore, your contribution will extend beyond analysis; you'll also create compelling presentation materials for clients.

  • Work closely with Director Of Growth Advisory & Head of M&A advisory for M&A projects across South East Asia
  • Assist in pre-M&A processes including research and analysis of relevant sectors and mapping of players
  • Source deals from local mid-market companies as well as startups
  • Support the preparation of proposals articulating the deals and value proposition
  • Conduct financial and business analysis by reading financial statements
  • Carry out market comparison analysis through research
  • Create presentation materials for clients

What you bring:

The ideal candidate for this Mergers and Acquisitions Analyst position brings a blend of skills and experiences that make you uniquely qualified. With 2-4 years of relevant work experience under your belt, you possess a solid foundation in research and analysis within the realm of M&A or related fields such as management consulting or corporate planning. Your familiarity with research databases like Speeda or Capital IQ will be highly valued. Lastly, your proficiency in Microsoft Power Point and Excel will enable you to create compelling presentation materials for clients.

  • 2-4 years work experience with a relevant degree and related experience
  • Experience in Research and Analysis in the field of M&A, management consulting, Corporate planning, business development, finance or sales and marketing is advantageous
  • Knowledge of Speeda, Capital IQ and similar research databases preferred
  • Some level of Japanese proficiency is beneficial but not critical
  • Good command of spoken and written English
  • Basic accounting / finance knowledge
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Power Point and Microsoft Excel
