What you'll do:

As a Finance / Senior Finance Analyst based in Penang, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial information related to production costs, inventory management, and fixed assets. Your day-to-day responsibilities will involve close collaboration with various departments to maintain up-to-date standard costs, perform thorough variance analyses, reconcile complex inventory accounts across multiple categories, and prepare essential month-end reports. You will also be instrumental in supporting both internal controls compliance and external audit processes. Success in this position requires not only technical proficiency but also strong interpersonal skills as you work closely with colleagues across the business to drive process improvements. Your ability to manage multiple priorities efficiently while maintaining high standards of accuracy will be key as you contribute to the overall effectiveness of the finance team.

  • Oversee all aspects of cost accounting including production accounting, standard cost updates, material master data maintenance, routing accuracy, labour tracking, and detailed variance analysis with regular reporting.
  • Manage project cost accounting processes by ensuring accurate allocation of costs and timely communication of project financial status to relevant stakeholders.
  • Control inventory accounts through meticulous reconciliations across raw materials, work-in-progress, finished goods, demo stock, software assets, and service inventories.
  • Conduct physical count audits for inventory and fixed assets while ensuring compliance with internal controls and external audit requirements.
  • Perform cost settlement runs in SAP to ensure accurate reflection of production costs in financial statements and support month-end closing activities.
  • Prepare month-end journal entries related to cost accounting, inventory management, and fixed asset transactions while supporting timely closing and comprehensive reporting cycles.
  • Reconcile inventory accounts monthly by analysing metrics, roll forwards, and identifying discrepancies for prompt resolution.
  • Support general accounting functions including fixed asset tagging, physical counts, process improvements, cross-training within the finance team, and compliance with internal policies.
  • Participate actively in both internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations regarding cost accounting practices.
  • Drive process improvements within the finance function by identifying inefficiencies and collaborating with colleagues to implement best practices.

  • Hands-on experience managing month-end closing processes as well as preparing detailed financial reports for senior management review.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office applications—especially Excel—and mandatory experience using SAP/S4 Hana for financial operations is essential for success in this role.
  • Comprehensive understanding of production-driven environments with proven ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities while maintaining accuracy under tight deadlines.
