What you'll do:
- You will support comprehensive financial reporting for both Malaysia and Singapore, ensuring all statutory requirements are met with precision.
- You will review financial reports such as profit & loss statements, balance sheets, intercompany reconciliations, cash flow analyses, and headcount data, uploading them into ERP systems like SAP BYD or Tagetik.
- You will identify gaps in current financial reporting processes and proactively recommend improvements to elevate reporting standards.
- You will monitor the quality of service provided by outsourced partners, identifying best practices to enhance overall finance operations.
- You will assist in budget projections including rolling forecasts and quarterly estimate exercises, providing valuable insights for strategic planning.
- You will review advisor commission computations using DSPRO commission engine and manage queries from advisors regarding commission matters.
- You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including IT and marketing to ensure seamless integration of financial processes across departments.
- You may occasionally travel to Singapore (once every 2-3 months) to support regional finance activities and foster inter-country collaboration.
- You will adapt to evolving processes as the organisation focuses on expansion, demonstrating flexibility in your scope of work.
- You will maintain high standards of accuracy and detail in all aspects of financial analysis and reporting.
What you bring:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field is required; professional certifications such as ACCA, CPA or CIMA are highly preferred.
- At least five years of relevant experience in financial reporting or general ledger management is essential; prior experience in a multinational corporation environment is advantageous.
- Strong knowledge of Malaysian Financial Reporting Standards (MFRS), tax regulations (GST/SST), and other statutory requirements is necessary.
- Proficiency in accounting software such as SAP or other ERP systems along with advanced Microsoft Excel skills is expected.
- Excellent analytical skills with a keen eye for detail and accuracy are vital for success in this role.
- Strong organisational skills enabling you to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines are important.
- Comfortable working in environments that are fast-evolving; adaptability is key as processes change during expansion phases.
- Effective interpersonal skills allowing you to collaborate successfully with cross-functional teams including IT and marketing.
- Ability to oversee outsourced service providers by monitoring quality standards and identifying best practices for improvement.
- Experience managing advisor commission computations through specialised engines like DSPRO is beneficial.
