Senior Costing Analyst

Our client is seeking a Senior Costing Analyst to join their team in Penang.

What you'll do:

As a Senior Costing Analyst, you will play a pivotal role in administering the day-to-day operations of the Costing Section. Your keen eye for detail will be crucial in preparing accurate costing reports for monthly financial results reporting. You will maintain the inventory sub-ledger, ensuring its reconciliation with the General Ledger for statutory and SOX reporting purposes. Your collaboration skills will come into play as you liaise with Engineering and Doc Control on the accuracy of BOMs for new product costing. You will also assist in yearly budget preparation and half-yearly forecasting, contributing significantly to the company's financial planning. Your analytical skills will be put to good use as you monitor cost savings projects, compile quarterly E&O reports, and prepare for external audits.

  • Administer the day-to-day operations of the Costing Section
  • Prepare costing reports for monthly financial results reporting
  • Maintain inventory sub-ledger and reconcile it with General Ledger for statutory and SOX reporting purposes
  • Prepare costing of new products and liaise with Engineering and Doc Control on accuracy of BOMs
  • Assist in yearly budget preparation and half-yearly forecasting
  • Monitor and track cost savings projects
  • Supervise daily administrative functions of the section, providing data for various reporting purposes
  • Develop ABC method for Store’s daily count, working with Store on accuracy improvement controls, & organize yearly PI count
  • Compile and analyse quarterly E&O reports to ensure all slow-moving and obsolete inventory are provided for
  • Prepare for external audit requirements and act as internal auditor for SOX and audit compliance

What you bring:

As a Senior Costing Analyst, you bring a wealth of experience in financial analysis or a related field. Your strong knowledge of SOX regulations and compliance requirements will be invaluable in this role. You are proficient in preparing financial reports and forecasts, and have experience in inventory management and reconciliation. Your ability to collaborate effectively with various departments such as Engineering and Doc Control will be crucial for the success of new product costing. You also have experience in supervising administrative functions within a finance department. Knowledge of ABC method for Store’s daily count is desirable, as is experience in preparing for external audits.
